Talbott Vineyards Newsletter June 2010

Dear Friends,

The effects of El Niño continue to influence the early part of the 2010 growing season. With cool, wet weather during May, the vines have achieved modest growth. Clusters have developed, and the set is good, but the flowering stage is just starting.
"Our vines look great so far," says Winemaker Dan Karlsen, "but with this late start we can also expect a late harvest".
In the winery, final blends are being put together for our 2009 Logan, Talbott Sleepy Hollow Vineyard and Cuvée Carlotta Chardonnays, all of which will be bottled before harvest. Dan and Assistant Winemaker Rolando Michel (AKA Earl) feel that the '09s are excellent. Next up—Pinot Noir lots to be sorted and blended.

Upcoming Releases

Coming this month! Our highly anticipated 2008 Talbott Pinot Noir, Sleepy Hollow Vineyard is set to be released on June 15th. Crafted as a stylistic companion to our flagship Sleepy Hollow Chardonnay, this wine has it all, showing why Sleepy Hollow is recognized as one of California's grand cru vineyards.
